- Purchased first reel-to-reel deck at age 7, began field recording.
- Purchased first cassette recorder at age 9.
- Began still photography and darkroom work at age 12.
- Began Sony handicam video at age 13.
- By age 13, student of woodwinds, violin, keyboards and guitar.
- Worked at KDVS FM radio station Engineering Department at age 15 and at a
television repair shop for school credit.
- Began helping at local recording studio.
- Began crew work for local band.
- Performing musician at age 20. Began live sound mixing and recording.
- Began digital recording in 1984 with Nakamichi DMP 1000, at age 25.
- Independent Audio Engineer for hundreds of bands between 1980 and
1988 throughout the west coast.
- Audio Engineer at Sweetwater, Mill Valley for three years (from
1988 to 1991), bringing total of Artists served to over 2,000.
- Began independent recording for Santana from 1989, officially
employed by Carlos Santana in early 1991.
- During world-wide Santana tours, shot single-camera video of all
performances. Created directors notes, and called shots for
seven-camera live-switch in Santiago, Chile, concert was later
broadcast in South America. Carlos Santana states: "My family and I
feel this is the best concert video of Santana ever made."
- Improved Santana concert recordings by changing methods to a
technique of my own design.
- Oversaw audio recordings, later began mixing 42 channels to 2.
Analog and digital media.
- Shot handheld Hi-8 footage of Phish at midnight during the New
Years Eve performance of 1993 - 1994 for optional use in upcoming MTV
video.
- During the late 1990s, employed at the College of Marin in
Kentfield, California as Engineer for consecutive terms.
- Consultant for San Rafael Studios - site now owned by rock band
Metallica. Acquired first client: Robert Cray.
- During this time I was also the creator and sole organizer for all
aspects of first THX live music dance concert. Acquired cooperation
from THX/Lucasfilm.
- In 1999 THX Director invites me to help him start his own
consulting firm.
- 2000 began artist management/career consultation and development.
- As a one-off in 2001 mixed audio at the Congo Square Stage,
Shoreline Amphitheater, in Mountain View for New Orleans by the Bay
event.
- 2003 began editing in Protools.
