Ruth Dodsworth is one of Wales’s most recognisable broadcasters, known for her warmth, professionalism, and resilience. She is currently a weather presenter for ITV Wales and Good Morning Britain, and co-presents the BAFTA-nominated lifestyle series Coast and Country.
A familiar voice on radio too, Ruth has presented for BBC Radio Wales and more recently hosted the Nation Radio Breakfast Show, earning a reputation for her engaging on-air personality and natural rapport with audiences.
Ruth’s personal story made headlines worldwide when her ex-husband was jailed for domestic abuse — a life-changing experience that has since inspired her to become a powerful advocate for domestic abuse awareness and education. She recently fronted an ITV Tonight documentary on domestic abuse, sharing her experience to help others recognise the signs of coercive control. Ruth has also appeared as a guest on major national platforms including This Morning, Loose Women, Lorraine, TalkTV, BBC News, BBC Radio 2, and BBC Radio 5 Live.
In recognition of her campaigning work, Ruth was honoured as Communicator of the Year 2022 by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, and was personally invited to Buckingham Palace to discuss her advocacy work with Queen Camilla. She continues to use her platform to educate and empower others — regularly contributing to podcasts, panel discussions, and training sessions with frontline services, as well as delivering talks to the Welsh Government, The Criminal Justice Board, and national conferences.
