A proud Welshwoman, Fiona was educated through the medium of Welsh and is passionate about Wales and the Welsh language. Following The Traitors, she has been re-learning and developing her Welsh, opening up opportunities across both English and Welsh-language media.
Fiona brings an unusually rich life experience to her work in front of the camera. Before entering the world of television, she trained and worked as a psychiatric nurse for 10 years, before becoming manager of Swansea Victim Support, where she recruited and trained more than 50 volunteers supporting victims of crime. She later worked for Swansea Council in community crime and justice and as an Area Coordinator, supporting people through some of the most challenging periods of their lives.
Her work within the community was recognised nationally, with Fiona invited to 10 Downing Street to meet then Prime Minister Gordon Brown and Home Secretary Alan Johnson following the success of Swansea’s Community Crime Fighter programme.
These experiences have given Fiona a natural ability to listen, communicate and connect with people from all walks of life. She combines genuine empathy with an infectious sense of humour and a love of storytelling — qualities that make her equally comfortable in front of a television camera, behind a microphone or entertaining a live audience.
