Scott Quinnell is one of Wales’s most recognisable rugby legends — a former Wales international and British & Irish Lions player, now a respected broadcaster, presenter, and motivational speaker.
Born into one of Wales’s great rugby families, Scott began playing for the Llanelli Juniors at just 8 years old, making his senior debut for the Scarlets at 18. Over his career, he played 146 games for the Llanelli Scarlets, scoring 69 tries, before going on to represent Wales 52 times, crossing the line for 12 international tries.
Scott also played for the Barbarians and was selected for two British & Irish Lions tours (1997 & 2001), scoring 5 tour tries including one in a Test match. Known for his power, heart, and leadership, he remains one of the most respected figures in Welsh rugby history.
Following retirement due to injury, Scott turned his focus to broadcasting and media, quickly becoming a familiar face and voice across major networks. He has worked with Sky Sports, BBC Sport, A Question of Sport, Soccer AM, and The One Show, and hosted his own BBC Radio Wales Sunday morning show.
As a motivational and after-dinner speaker, Scott delivers powerful talks on resilience, teamwork, and overcoming adversity, drawing on both his sporting experiences and personal journey with dyslexia. A passionate advocate for learning differences, he has spent over a decade speaking across the UK, including three appearances at the Houses of Parliament, inspiring audiences of teachers, students, and parents alike.
Scott is also a proud patron of The Prince’s Trust, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and The Welsh Dyslexic Association, using his platform to raise awareness and empower others to succeed regardless of the challenges they face.
